How tight did you set your valves past zero lash? If they're too tight, your valvetrain will be quiet but your valves won't close all the way; thus possibly causing your low vacuum and lack of power. Just taking a stab because no one else mentioned it yet.....

Actually I did have a rr on #1 that was too tight and cause 0 compression on that cylinder. That was the only one that showed a miss on the scope at the dealership. I got that fixed and just did the vacuum test yesterday and found out it was low.

Re-do all your rockers... if you had one too tight there might have been others. I pull about 17" vacuum but, have a little smaller cam. I would think yours should pull 15" vacuum.

Is it strange that even though the vacuum was low, it wasnt stable? It set mainly at 9.5-10 but would sometimes drop down to 8 then go back up to 11. Then set back at 9 for most of the time. Is this normal?

Check out the first graph for interpreting the vacuum gauge.

If you're using Internet Explorer 6, just hover over the image for a second or two and you should get an image in the lower right corner, click on it and the vaccuum chart will become its original size and be much more readable!

Hey I have the same cam as you. I got 15 inches of vacuum at idle. Have you ever run it at Greer?
