question about new LCA's
question about new LCA's
I just put some new LCA's on my Z and now everytime I hit the slightest bumps they make a tap sound. I put a little grease on each one before installing them. What is the cause of this and will it stop after awhile? Thanks...
Do they have poly bushings? or are they spherical ends? The spherical will always make that slight ticking noise, if it is the poly bushings, make sure the bushings are fine and that there is no metal to metal contact between the lca and mounting area.

They SHOULD be greased, using the correct grease for polyurethane. The ES poly's come with little tubs of white, water-resistant grease, and the best thing you can do is slather it all over the bushings.
Check the bolts and make sure they are properly torqued.

I did it while it was hanging, should I tq them while loaded? Also, I didn' t think that there was a tq spec on them or that it was that necessary. Does anyone know the tq spec?

There's your problem right there....go loosen the bolts, hand tighten them, jack up the rear (or you can just do it on the ground) and torque them down with the suspension loaded. Mine did the same thing until I did this and I'm 99.99% positive it's going to work for you.

Pretty sure it's around 80 ft-lbs.
