Pulling codes
Re: Pulling codes
Get a scan tool from www.akmcables.com. Then you will need a laptop to hook it up to. And also you will have to buy or download a program to scan it. You can go to www.carputing.com and download their free program called pcmcomm.exe and you can use that to scan for codes. Or do a search on here and look for freescan. Either of the two work.
Just remember you have a 1995 Z28. This is an OBD-I computer but requires an OBD-II connector for the cable

Re: Pulling codes
Here's where you can buy refurb scan tools at a good price: www.autocheckup.net/ You need the XP240 with 16 pin cable for a '95, or the XP240 Pro Pack, but it looks as if you have to buy the correct cable to use it on a '95.
