Project: Full wire tuck on engine bay

A few have been asking for pics so here we go. I'm in the middle of the full wire tuck on everything in the engine bay. Only thing not in the pic is the brake master cylinder and hard lines that will run straight down, and also the battery cables, which I'm still trying to decide exactly how I want to run them. I still have to mount the fuse box and build a box around it after I run my intercooler piping and know exactly where I will have room and obviously finish tying up the wires. Also later this week we will be filling all the holes in, smoothing the cranks/etc, and painting the engine bay. :headbang:

Once finished the only wiring you will be able to see will be on the motor, which will mostly be tucked/hidden also. Next project will be getting rid of all the wiring under the dash that isn't needed.

My photobucket got put down a little while ago, I'll get them back up here soon, but might be a week or so. I have them on my other computer.

Any update? I'm trying to do some research now on how everyone does the wire tuck. I already have the information on the fuel lines and computer wiring harness but I'm at a loss as to where to hide all teh wires that run along side the intake.

Here is some quick pictures, I have a lot more, but sorry don't have time to upload right now.

Fuel pressure guage sitting on top of the motor in this pic.

Entire wiring harness is in the car in this picture believe it or not

Intake modified, NO vacuum fittings on the side other than the brake booster one, also map sensor relocated to the rear.

Custom harness setup with the wiring tucked under the fuel rails, this came out as a very clean setup.

Sorry I didn't get more pictures up, I mounted the pcm under the dash, ran the wires through a hole directly behind the motor. We also filled all the holes in the engine bay, plated and filled the big hole where a CAI would normall run, stood the radiator up(for a cleaner look) with slim fans, and much much much more.

Very nice job. Everything looks so open and easy to work on. You've given me something to think about before my motor goes back in.

You should consider doing a write up on this....
shouldn't take more than a few days

I'd be willing to send some money for a detailed writeup as I am not as ingenuitive as you are

On relocating the coil...I thought it had to be mounted to the head (or a place of higher heat) to act as a heat sink to work properly? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Looks great!

It would take a very long time to make a writeup for all the work we did. The coil relocation worked fine mounted there, just had to make a custom length coil wire.

I am not super familiar with resistance values for wiring, does anything have to be changed when lengthening wires or can you literally cut, solder extension, and relocate whatever it is you are moving?

In the case of the fuse box for example...

I just made sure I used the same gauge wire and made good solder jobs.
