Problems with cc305 cam install
Re: Problems with cc305 cam install
hey med,
plugs are brand new, the opti was already replaced with a functional unit that was used, and the wires are new as well. i have put a new feul pump in the car and it ran better for a couple of days and started up as soon as it got to the track. this all start of the cam install. i bought a msd digital 6 plus but i dont want to put it on before i figure out what this problem is cause the msd might just be a bandaid fix for the real problem or could just cause more problems. what do u think.

Re: Problems with cc305 cam install
I cant localize where the prob is, but if it revs freely, and only misses under load, then this means it pretty much has to be fuel or spark delivery. Either that or air is nto getting in or not being sensed properly when it goes into the motor in higher volume. Try borrowing a buddy's maf sensor??
Re: Problems with cc305 cam install
well i have unplugged the maf so that the car would run on an open loop (i think that is how it works) and the same probblem still exsisted. i have a msd blaster coil on it and i even replaced that with a functional one off a friends car and it still had the miss.
Re: Problems with cc305 cam install
the map sensor is the black one on the intake that sits to the left side of the intake if you are looking from the front of the car. its black with a green plug in correct? i didnot replace it but i cleaned it.

Re: Problems with cc305 cam install
well after i replaced the plugs and gaped them at .035 and bumped the fuel pressure down it had a slight miss them this last sat. i took it out and the miss was gone great right. so i took it to the track and no miss but insted of shifting at 6200 it goes to 6500 at just say there and it feels like the tranny is slippin really bad or i'm blowing the tires off and wont shift. but its not boucing of the rev limiter, its like i'm stallin it up that high. when i do my burn outs (with et streets) as i come put of the burn out box it used to throw me back in the seat when it cought but, not this time it just feels like it's spun the whole time. a friend at the track thinks i rolled a sprag in the converter hell its a stocker anyway but i think the tranny is shot. what do u guys think. well if it is shot im putting the turbo 350 in it with a brake.
Re: Problems with cc305 cam install
i had the same problem with a turbo 350 years ago. it would rev high and not shift. tranny place said they couldn't even rebuild it and i should just put in another one. of course they wanted to make the sale though sooo....
