problem with 95 z28

problem with 95 z28

When i floor the car, it kicks down for a second then sputters out and the check engine light soon light appears, what is causing this and what can i do to fix the problem? lmk

I had the same problem and hooked a fuel pressure gauge to the windhield and turned out the fuel pressure would drop all the way to 0. It could be so many things like fuel, spark or mechanical. Check the basics first.

If the SES light is coming on, it wouldn't hurt to have it scanned for codes. That will be a good start.

i dont have a scann tool thats just it, anyone from san diego area have one they would be willing to let a fellow camaro owner use/helpout?

Do you have an Autozone by you, they scan it for free.

Except AutoZone gets confused by the 95's when they see the OBD-II ALDL connector and try to use the wrong scanner on it.

Its going to be cheaper in the long run to get it scanned, even if you have to pay for it, and possibly find the exact cause, rather than guessing what the problem is and playing parts replacement roulette.

didnt know that about auto zone, i have a pep boys by me i will stop in their later tommorw and ask if they can do it, thanks for the help.

i need a coolant sensor as it appears, can someone give me a location on how to get to it and how hard it will be thanks.

There are two coolant temp sensors. The one that feeds the PCM is located in the water pump housing, the one that feeds the dash gauge is located on the drivers side head, between plugs #1 and #3.
