I finally got over 500 miles on my new 355 motor and now she's lagging in power. When I say lagging I mean it feels like when I press the gas down to get some RPM's it's not to it's full potential and then it starts making poping noises which sound like it's coming from the exhaust.........Is it the coil, plugs, wires, opti, or something else I may not know of?.............What happens to an LT1 when the opti is giving up? What are the symptoms?

 

My stock 95 T/A use to pop a lot. It seemed to me the car ran better when it made lots of pops though...now it doesn't and now it feels like when I floor it the car gets loud and feels like it is driving through quick sand cause it dont go anywhere!

I think the pops may be caused by either how rich or lean your running or maybe the spark? I wish someone would clarify this once and for all because I know exactly what you are talking about. When I rev my m6 in neutral and then let the rpms fall it used to make loud annoying pops all the way down to idle.
