Plugging Intake Elbow

Put on E water pump, now "silencer" on intake elbow won't fit.

Any suggestions for plugging the hole in the stock elbow when the "silencer" is removed? Any one make a plug for that?

Trying not to buy a new elbow.

Found a plastic shampoo bottle that was the perfect size but it started to distort (melt?) after a couple test runs!

Re: Plugging Intake Elbow

I put an Hebal Essences shampoo bottle and siliconed it on. I had no issues (that I noticed) with melting.

Yea, that's the same one I used! I hosed clamped mine, no silicone.
Hmmm...maybe I went too tight on the clamp and when it heated up it gave way?

Thanks.

I really dont think that your intake elbow should be getting hot enough to melt plastic. That seems really wierd to me because your rubber elbow shouldnt conduct that much heat.

omg, roflmfao deoderant caps and shampoo bottles

I got away with some properly affixed duct tape, I might be getting a little bit of leakage because my long term blms are high.

there is no need to buy one of those plugs, just look around this board for people parting out cars. I got a 1LE elbow for $40 on here, which is only $5 more than what those plugs cost. Just search the classified section on here

The plastic bottle part ends up less than an eighth of an inch above the water pump motor, so I would guess if it was too much heat it came from there not the rubber elbow. (Second fan doesn't come on till ~235)

I found a bottle of elmers glue that fit and used the glue to glue it in place. haha. Then I used a staple gun just to make sure it didnt move.
