plug wires

When changing plug wires on a 5.7l lt1 engine do you have to take anything off the engine before replacing them or can you just change them without taking anything off

Now would be a good time to change the plugs too, if you aren't already

NGK-TR55's work wonderfully.

i take my balancer off. it makes it much easer to get the boots on the opti and my balancer comes off pretty easy.

I guess if they've been on there forever. I've never had a problem getting them off the opti.

the passenger side can be a pain. i take off the balancer and loosen the p/s pump when replacing mine. don't really remember how easy it was with the stock, but my MSD opti is nearly impossible to reach the plug wire boots on with the balancer still on. just be careful running the wires and make sure not to pinch any of them and keep them free of the pullies and belts and manifolds/headers. zip ties are your friend!
