Plug wire resistance

In sorting out my high rpm misfire, I decided to replace all the wires at the same time as the opti since the access is easier. Rather than waiting on a new "high-perf" wire set, I'm just replacing my Taylors with NAPA standard replacements (Belkin).

The Taylors measure about 900 ohms. The Belkins measure 10,000 ohms. That's a big difference!

Can someone explain the benefits and tradeoffs of resistance in plug wires?
