Plug wire #7-1, John-0

How on earth do you get plug wire #7 out. It seems to run down some sort of heat shield tunnel. Does that thing come out some how? or can you pull it through by the opti end?

You have to remove the heat shield, thread the wire through it and then reinstall. There are 2 bolts holding the shield on. The front one must be removed, but the rear one only needs to be loosened. The mounting on the rear of the shield is slotted and will slip off the bolt.

Thank you very much. I wondered if it was removable but since it is pretty much impossible to see, I couldn't tell.

This could use a brief write up in "Tech tips."

Yep. Judging from my probress so far I's say that the wires are about twice as hard as the plugs were.

The first time I did my wires I just ended up cuting it off, since I was replacing it anyway :P Then I bent it back a little bit so I could slide the new wire in without having to remove it. If I recall I cut myself pretty bad on it, and it was the first thing to go once I installed headers.

I was able to slightly bend the heat shield enough to get the plug wire out and put a new one in. Didn't need to remove the shield. Make sure that you put the wire protector on the new plug wire so that the shield does not cut into the wire.

The easiest ways to pull the stock wires is to rotate them 90 degrees a few times while pulling a bit.... they should come off easy after that (just did them this weekend).
