Re: True Dual Install

I think the simplest way to go is to just buy collectors, summit brand x-pipe, bullet mufflers and some turndowns. I wouldn't go with 3' though if i was you that is kinda big and will provide you with no ground clearance. I dont have any clearance with 2 extra people in my car.

check sig for true dual pics.

Re: True Dual Install

The lowest point on my 3" duals are the header flanges (using hooker LTs).

Re: True Dual Install

Yep, header collectors (flanges) are the lowest point on my car as well.
I simply installed purple horny header mufflers with turndowns. I had O2 bungs welded into the hornies as my Hooker LTs were ordered without em. Simple true dual setup that is very easy to remove.
X pipe setup would be a little more complicated and I would have a professional weld me up a system if I was going that route.
Ground clearance is a big issue with true duals, I can take 1 passenger thats it. I have no backseat, and I treat the car as a 2 seater.
Although at this particular time it only has 1 seat in it.

Re: True Dual Install

the Xpipe will give you better hp gains, the X acts as a scavenger to pull exhaust out.
i think the sound will be better too, compared to non-connected duals like described above.

2.5" duals should be fine for a bolt on car. and you'll get better clearance and a little cheaper.

2.5" duals is fine for most cars, as long as the bends are smooth (mandrel at tighter turns) and the muffler (if any) is free-flowing.
