Play in front steering
I just replaced upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends and all the bushings in the control arms when I installed my shocks and springs and mine is still loose. I'd say the rag joint is all that's left right?

Okay so all i would have to get is this rag joint deal? Would it be better to just go ahead and get the whole steering shaft. Anyone replaced this with headers, specificaly maybe macs. Whats the advantage of getting the eliminator over the rag joint from a typical parts store. What tools are needed?

I don't think you can get the steering shaft at a parts store.. pretty sure it's a dealer only or junkyard only item.
To test to see if it's your rag joint with the key at ON have a friend move the steering wheel back and forth through the play that you have in the steering wheel. Look under the hood at the rag joint. If the top of the shaft is moving and the bottom isn't then you know for sure it's the rag joint.
There are only 2 bolts (11mm IIRC) that need to be removed and it comes right out. That's pretty much it.
