ls1 maf work in place of a lt1 maf?

My maf sensor went bad in my 96 Z28, a4, I am able to get a good deal on a ls1 maf, just wanting to know if it will work properly, and will it make it where my ses light goes off?

Only if you have 3 things:

The Correct Connector
A way to program your PCM
The Correct Flow Vs Freq Curve for the MAF that you have and be able to interpolate it to have the correct values for your car.

You should look into a Z06 maf. It's cheaper that the stock lt1 maf. Do a search for it you will come up with some results.
