PCV Valve Elbow & Codes 0174/0171?
PCV Valve Elbow & Codes 0174/0171?
Hello all. I've been constantly getting codes P0174/0171 for lean conditions in both banks.
Took a look around the car today and noticed that the 90 degree rubber elbow coming off the PCV valve is almost completely ripped in half and barely there. I will replace it but was wondering if this could be triggering those codes?
Also is there anyway to just order or find the rubber elbow without getting the entire tube/rubber assembly?
Thanks.

Yes, the air bypasses the MAF sensor, the MAF sensor only reads a small part of the air, the PCM fuels the engine based on the low MAF readings, and its running lean. The PCM sees its running lean, based on the O2 sensors, and starts adding fuel using the long term fuel corrections. When it can't add enough fuel, it sets the "lean" codes.
