Pcm

Does a new computer absolutely have to be flashed after it is installed in the car and what will happen if it is not

The PCM must be programmed to the specific vehicle, including VIN, transmission type, rear axle ratio, tire diameter, etc..

do you happen to have any recommendations as far as who I would take this computer to to have it programmed that is close to Indiana I have a new one coming in tomorrow

A GM dealer with a Tech-2 can do it, assuming you want a factory calibrated tune for a stock engine. Or a “mail order” tuner, like pcmforless in Stow, Ohio.
