With the stock wire routing, I had to use zip ties to secure the wires away from the headers in certain spots. I did this for a couple of weeks until my OTVC wires came in the mail.

yeah i had some serious plug wire burning issues i went with the OTVC wires its the only way to go in my opinion
but ive heard of people tucking them up tight to the block with zip ties and stuff and it working so either way

Zip ties have been know to melt too so if you go that route, monitor them so your wires don't move later and burn.

When I put headers on my old 94 Z I burnt a wire within a week. So I went the Taylor OVC route and never looked backed. In fact it changing was a lot easier afterwards.

The zip tie method, for me at least, was just a temporary fix. I'm not sure what the long term results would be like but like stated, its always a good idea to poke your head under the hood and check.

Been running stock routing for over 3 years now with my Hooker LT's. Zip ties did the trick and have not "melted" off.

I've only burnt one wire in those 3 years.

When I still used the opti, I wouldn't route the wires through the stock location. I ran mine behind the AC compressor and up from the bottom. No zip ties, no burnt wires.
