P/V clearance question

I'm about to put a cc305 w/1.6 rr 220/230 (.544/.544) and AFR 180cc heads with 2.02 1.60 valves on my stock pistoned lt1. Will the bigger valves cause clearance problems?

The clearance need's to be checked with modeling clay. .080I/.100E min.(not hard just takes time) On a stock block the pistons are not in the block the same from one block to another. Is the .544 lift with 1.5 or 1.6 RR's?

Dave,
I would check at least 1 cyl just for S&G and to be positive. The worst part is making your 2 lifters solids to check.

I will be checking, guess I wont know for sure untill I do. But i'm not too worried I just wondered if these size valves generally have problems or not on the stock short block. I know the cam's not the biggest out there

2.00 I valves won't but am not sure of that extra .020.Never have run 2.020,it's either been 2.0 in a stock head or 2.080 or larger in converted heads.

NO

I don't know if his heads have differant valve spacing, don't know how far the piston is in the hole, and didn't want to lead somebody into something that will crash their motor.
It's not a big deal to check one cyl v bending and breaking stuff the first time you tach it out.
Rather safe than sorry....

Dave, I am more than 100% certain that you will be fine with P to V on that setup fo shizzle.... I've seen crazier stuff clear with even bigger valves.

Re: P/V clearance question

What about P/V clearance with stock heads with 2.02/1.60 valves?
Same cam.
