OPTISPARK replacement...What will you get next time: Delteq, MSD, GM....
Re: OPTISPARK replacement...What will you get next time: Delteq, MSD, GM....
Mine might be done as well...
it's between the OE unit or the MSD unit, but the MSD unit is still too new to have any solid feedback about it...

I could have gotten 2 GM opti's for what I paid for the Dynaspark.

I'm waiting to see how the MSD replacements go. I'm interested in the +5/-5 degree adjustments on them. Plus I already have their cap and rotor and it has done nothing but good for the car.

Just out of curiosity, why is the new Accell opti not a poll choice?
I remember a thread not too long ago where a few members had used it with good results, so why leave it out of this comparison?

Could you tell me the exact bracket etc. you bought and part numbers and where you got it. I am interested in this so I can do the LS1 type setup like you did.
U paid $170 for the coils and brackets and $399 for the LTCC
Who makes this kit and you got any pics? Thanks

I got a response from Dynaspark. Eric told me the rebuild fee is $30 + parts. For under $200 the unit can be rebuilt and has a 1 year warranty. That helps anyway. Turn around time is 1-2 days from receipt of the unit.

I seriously doubt the +/-5deg adjustable timing was put there to allow amateurs to tweek the timing. I believe it makes sense if used to allow a camshaft to be installed advanced or retarded, without throwing the optical sensor off - something that prevents you from altering cam timing on the LT1, unless you are willing to go into the timing tables in the PCM and alter every entry by the amount (remebering the difference between camshaft and crankshaft degrees) you advanced or retarded the cam.

That's what I was told as well. Mine should be here soon. Mine is going to cost 250 though. Cant beat having a 2year warranty on a opti.
