How did you get a 2yr warranty?
What did they say was wrong with yours?
How long have they had yours?
How was your car acting to lead you to feel the opti was bad?

Thanks for the help with this.

That was suppose to read 1 year warranty.
My distributor had oil inside it, the oil entered through the vacuum lines. He told me to check around for reasons as to why this may have happened because my distributor would be working perfectly if it were'nt for that.
Theyve had it for more than a week now.
My car was shooting a high res opti failure code. It just felt like something wasnt right with the way it ran. Didnt show any signs till the first night at the track. That was when the code started. I thought it was because I was reving high.

I wish someone would take it and the msd and compare the two with both apart.

Do you have the restricter valve in the vacuum line that connects to the intake manifold. If not, the high vacuum at idle and cruise could have pulled oil into it.

I have a blower and my last motor failed due to rings. I had alot of smoke blow by coming out of the breathers and dip stick.

Just got mine out. What a pain. I am soaked. I have spent more time under this car than any other car I have ever owned. It is going to be for sale if this stuff doesnt quit soon! After all this money I should have just replace the motor only and sold the car way back when. I'm done bitchin now.

I went with the Delteq barebones and coil pack off of ebay.I am in for under $500.00 minus the new 95 and up opti that I needed anyway.I am going to take the OVC wires I have and put new ends on them as they are not that old.

It looks like you guys have a lot of faith in the MSD opti for it being so new. I am leaning toward going with the much cheaper GM opti until the MSD has been proven to really last longer.

I dont understand why. Most the MSD stuff for the Camaro hasnt done well but everyone assumes the opti will be the the greatest thing next to sliced bread.

Mine's over 3 years old. There are a lot of people who've had them longer than I have. I think between here and corvetteforum I've seen posts of about a half-dozen dynasparks failing in the last ~4 years, and all of the failures I've read about were due to either excessive rpms or something wrong with the installation/engine that caused failure (like, for instance, oil in the vent line...)

Given the track history of both products I'll take a pre-95 dynaspark over two unvented GM optis any day. But then I wouldn't have put another unvented opti on my car if it was free.

Pretty much can't beat the LTCC and as said before you can do it for mid $500s if you have an inkling of fabrication skills.

I've got 30,000 miles on my delteq with no problems yet. I run 6200 rpm with a blower and it jumps a .050 gap with no problem. It has a very strong spark and has been proven in cadillac northstar applications.
