Opti-Spark question
I have a 94 Camaro Z-28 with a LT1 engine. Prior to changing the Opti-Spark distributor, the car was running fine and while idling, the top heater hose that goes into the engine started leaking and antifreeze starting pouring out of the car. The next couples of days, I crunked the car up and it ran fine. After I replaced the hose, I tried to crank the car up and it began spinning and spitting very badly. I thought that because of the antifreeze pouring out of the car, it damaged my distributor. I changed the Distributor, Coil and Module, but it is doing the exact same thing. I have fire at the coil, but when I try to crank the car up, it's spinning and sometimes spit back. Are there any troubleshooting tips that I can try to resolve the issue or do you know what can be causing the problem?
Thanks,
94 Z-28

Have you checked the ends of the plugs wires, the coil wire and the Opti harness connector for corrosion or pin damage on the connector? Are you sure you have the splined shaft indexed correctly to the cam sprocket?
Well
I had the exact same thing happen to me and it ultimately ended up putting my car down for 6 months with me trying everything. Come to find out the brand new opti I put on was filled with water. I dunno how it happened but my WP was leaking and went straight into the opti. Finally I decided to take the opti back off after I put a new water pump on it and found the water then put a new opti on and presto runs like new. I know it's a PITA but I would check on that.
