Re: Opti removal

My front timing cover started leaking oil and took out my opti. There will be a little oil there, but there shouldn't be a lot.

Question Re: Opti removal

Ok. Got it on. Works like a charm. Didn't seem to have the power cutting out or any missfires anymore. Unfortunately though it's not working right yet.

I scanned the computer and noticed a TON of knock when I went to WOT. I'm 99.9% sure the motor is good as I JUST built it. Of course the the opti is good. What could this be from?

Thanks!

Re: Opti removal

First off, you do have an LT4 knock module, right? Also, how is the car tuned? You might just need to pull some timing out. A tank of bad gas could also cause this......

Re: Opti removal

Thanks for the advice! I've got a stock Knock module. Never knocked w/ stock programming. Which I reverted to after having difficulties.

Gas kind of makes since. I know it's got bad gas in it. After holding my hand by the exhaust for about 5 seconds, it becomes saturated in condensation. Car only knocks when I hammer it. Is it possible I could just drive around in a sane manner untill the gas is gone?

Thanks for the help!
