Yeah, but does he know whether it's the cap & rotor (most common opti failure) or the optical sensor? The Delteq system uses ONLY the optical sensor. The condition of the rest of the opti is irrelevant. If it's just the cap & rotor, then he could add a Delteq and PROBLEM SOLVED...

Re: Opti choices

Re: Opti choices

I would think any of the aftermarket units would be just as good as the OE unit, maybe even a little better. Regardless, I'd suggest looking to adding a Delteq (or similar unit) in the future, because it did wonders for my engine. Revs & accelerates SMOOTH, and it wraps up the tach quicker than before...

Re: Opti choices

I just brought a reman one from AutoZone for like $150ish. Seems to work just fine, but I only have about 2,000 miles on it so far.

Re: Opti choices

i've known people to have problems with the autozone ones...i'd rather just go with a complete new unit.

kevin...soon i hope....everything is taking way too long right now...either way we got to hook up if you still got those intake gaskets
