Which one do I have? OBDI or OBDII ??
I have a 95 z28 Camaro. I'm getting a cable from akmcables.com. Which cable do I buy? there is two different kinds. From what it looks like here I should be getting a OBDII connector, but for some reason I thought I needed a OBDI.
this is what the site is showing:
*OBDI-style RS232/ALDL Cable, fully tested, molded connector (rectangular style 12-pin)
Fits up to -1993 Y-body, -1994 F-body, -1995 B-body, and many other 1986-1995 GM vehicles $95.00
*OBDII-style RS232/ALDL Cable, fully tested, molded connector (D-shaped 16-pin)
Fits 1994-1996 Y-body, 1995-1997 F-body, 1996 B-body, but is NOT for true OBDII cars (OBDI only) $95.00
Which one do I get? Please help me out!

1993-1995 used obd I, thought some or all of 1995 cars got the obd II connector. As to which one you get, do some research on that, maybe someone else can explain which is better to you. From what i hear obd II is more "touchy" in that is responds to anything and everything, but again, don some research and maybe someone else on here can tell you major differences.
That's why people told him to "get the second one". ALL 1995 F-Bodys have an OBD-I PCM, with an OBD-II style connector. That is what the "second one" is for. No research necessary.
go to steve ruse at wot electronics i just got a cable for my 95. it cost 65 and that included shipping with no wire soldering. its made for OBD 1 with the OBD 2 plug to interface to our 95 cars. i got his link off the akm website.
