Depending on your mileage, its probably a good idea to just go ahead and replace that oil pump while its out

that the oil sending unit is bad or is it the gauge ?????

don't be so sad about that rod bearing it just gives you a reason to make it faster !!!!
HAHA, the only reason I'm sad is the money I had saved was going to be spent on speed parts alone. Now its all goin on a rebuild and some bolt ons and a cam. I got a helluva deal on a cc306, but its gonna be too much so it'll sit on the shelf for a little while I guess. I may put it in and let it be a good sounding turd!!! Haha

Not every engine oiling system is the same. Do you wonder why the LT1 V8 oil pressure gauge only goes to 80psi, while the same Camaro with a 3.8L V6 has a gauge that reads to 120psi? Different designs. The engineers that designed the engine designed the oil pressure and oiling system to provide the lubrication required by the various components of the engine.

Give it up.

Re: oil pressure ???

Don't know that much about the internal components of a engine and how they work just the basic
i was assuming that oil pressure was oil pressure based on my three car's with two of them having
the same gauge and the other one just having a. high and low thought it was a 80 psi gauge also
