Oil and knock sensor question

I have been running Castrol GTX 10W30 in my LT1 since I built it. It has approx. 7000 miles on it and I was wondering when some of you have switched over to synthetic oil. I am going to run Castrol Syntec 10W30 and I was thinking about 10,000 miles. What do you think? Thanks, Chris

Re: Oil and knock sensor question

Why would you feel you need to wait 'til you have 10,000 miles on the engine before you switch to synthetic oil? Once the rings are seated it isn't going to make any difference.

And that is related to the knock sensor in what way?

Re: Oil and knock sensor question

I was just letting the bearings and rings fully break in. I was also asking about a LT4 knock module and I did not mean to put that in the title. Do you think I should go ahead with the Synthetic?
