oh boy what a day

So i have a 95 Z and a week ago I tried to start it and it wouldnt. I messed with it today and finally got it to run. I dont understand why its doing this, but it did do this before. It turns over and and it sounds like it wants to start but it doesnt. finally after cranking on and off for an hour it finally started. I did notice that when i had the cai off looking down at the coil around where the plug wire it was thoughing off sparks, does this always do this while its trying to start. I had it in a garage that has a stone floor and it does get condinsation on car. Any ideas why its doing this would be great.

If your coil is "throwing off sparks" (arcing) you have a problem with the coil, or heavy dirt or moisture buildup on the coil. Could also be a problem with excessively large plug gaps, or wires with broken conductors.

You should never see visible arcing on the ingition system components.

You should not see any sparks coming from the coil wire or any plug wire. Check the terminal ends for corrosion or replace the wire if old. If you have not done a tune up lately, that may be in order, too. Wide plug gaps might contribute to spark leakage, as well as worn terminals in the opti.
