No fuel pressure?

Just did a cam swap and the car started fine one day and now there is no fuel pressure and it will not start? Anyone have any ideas or is my luck just that great that the pump would have gone out? Any help in determaining if it's the pump is appreciated since i really don't want to do it unless i need to.

Re: No fuel pressure?

You can go about it several ways. Perhaps the easiest is to put 12 volts on the fuel pump prime connector and see what the pressure is.

If you don't get any pressure, go to the fuel pump relay and check the red wire on pin 87A for 12 volts while you still have 12 volts jumped to the fuel pump prime connector. You can figure which pin to probe by looking at the pin diagram on the relay. It's labeled for pin outs.

You can also start at the back of the car just ahead of the differential. Either with someone cycling power or with 12 volts jumped to the fuel pump prime connector, check the power from pin A1 to pin A3. It's the double connector in the back of the body behind the rear seats just inside of the left rear wheel. Should be the grey and the black wire. Top 2 wires.

Re: No fuel pressure?

Right after i did my hot cam kit, id say about a month later, my fuel pump crapped out. Was pushing like 12 psi to the motor... went out to lunch at work and never came back LOL.

Re: No fuel pressure?

Well checked some things out and it is the pump, started 4 times after cam install and then crapped out. I did have plans to do a pump just wanted to drive the car a bit and empty someof the tank since it's of course FULL! Thanks for the replies.

There's always a good ol' siphon tube.... yes, you can get the tube past the internal baffles.
