Track times!!??? Irked!!!

VERY PISSED!!! I just got back from the track and i ran a 13.9 at 96mph??????????????? 60'was a 1.94?????? damn thing ran better with just exhaust. With heades and catback on street tires it went 13.5 at 102mph. I dont get it the car doesnt seem to miss or anything. All i know is that it is running really rich because my buddy video taped it and it has a trail of black smoke behind it and it is DRINKING GAS! I hope the reason i ran so horriable is because of my tune because i have NO idea what it could be. I have a new fuel pump, opti, coil, plugs wires are a year old, new fuel filter, New tranny new 3500 jo-bilt stall, had the cam and 1.6 rr done a few months ago. The car took off hard out of the hole but after that it just seem like it doesnt want to move. I guess it is in the tune??? anything else i can check???? mods in the sig.

Do you have an exhaust leak before the O2 sensors or even one slightly after? If so it will add alot of fuel and make it run like poop.

Also check your fuel pressure. I have an AFPR and it was insanely high for some reason, but after i turned it down the car picked up a few tenths in the eighth. With the vaccum line off, it should be like 43.5 psi I think.

Hey I am in MO too, and I ran a 13.9 at 98 mph with a 2.1 60ft. Check for a thread called "1/4 Mile Times Inside" by me.

Just think, my firechief who has a alcohol rail car usually runs 5.50's and he was running 7.70's....WOW.

Where at in MO are you?

Re: Track times!!??? Irked!!!

why get so angry over a tuning issue.

You need to get that thing programmed right.

more details on cam and previous tuning are needed.

Re: Track times!!??? Irked!!!

eh dont feel bad. Tonight, in a 30 mph headwind, with me granny shifting a ****ty clutch, my heavy *** stereo in the trunk, letting out early, humidity horrible and rocking the street tires, managed a best of 14.31@98.48 on a 2.30 60 foot Talk about ****ty times.

I've got a CAI and a muffler (not a catback).

Re: Track times!!??? Irked!!!

That's really not THAT bad. It sounds like you're car runs good for what you have done to it. You'd be in high 13's easily with a good run.
