No Fuel No Spark After rebuild

Hello, seeking possible causes of my new found no fuel no spark issue, cranks fine. 97 camaro m6 95 ecm. just dropped subframe to replace headgasket. it would start and run before now it wont. checked for inj pulse, nothing. cant hear fuel pump come on either. i think it may be opti bc i bought the only cap and rotor i could get local which was the only component change. Vats seems to be working according to the 5 sec security light. im ordering a new opti today. but am curious what could cause this. Thanks!

The fuel pump should prime for 2 seconds when you turn the key to “run”. Does it? If not, unrelated to the PCM and Opti. Wiring, relay or failed pump. Try running the pump using the prime connector near the PCM.

For spark, check for the signal from the PCM to the ICM that tells the ICM to fire the coil.

Personaly, I wouldn't run out and buy a new Opti without doing these basic diagnostics. Have you scanned the PCM for codes? Problems with the Opti and ICM can set codes during cranking that don’t turn on the SES light.

If you are intent on replacing the Opti, don’t buy anything other than the Petris.
