New Opti installed - need to test
Re: New Opti installed - need to test
Great job on the fuel pump hatch. Make a solid cover, use body sealer all the way around, use a lot of sheet metal screws to hold it tight. In a roll over, you don't want fuel seeping into the interior.
I assume that the fuel pump was what solved the problem.
Try and track down the source of DTC 11. It's a cut wire or a burned out bulb. That's the only code, but lack of the SES light will delay the discovery of a new problem that turns on the SES light to alert you.
Downloaded the data, set it up in the format I like. Quick look shows both fans running, even though coolant temp is only 185-deg. Fan switch? With just the quick review, everything else looks very good, at idle. Nothing jumps out as a problem. I will spend a bit more time to make sure.

Re: New Opti installed - need to test
Scan9495 will read the ABS computer (EBCM) on cars WITHOUT traction control. You have to select that system to scan it. There should be a tab for it. Will also read SIR (airbag) system.
Re: New Opti installed - need to test
so is there a way to turn the brake light off without pulling the bulb? (this would be for a temporary time)
Re: New Opti installed - need to test
Does the service parts label have RPO “NW9” on it? Is there a black device sitting on top of the driver side valve cover, with the throttle cables attached and a silver servo motor? Both those would indicate traction control (ASR).
I think it should have an ABS INOP bulb whether it has traction control or not. No SKIP SHIFT bulb on a car with auto trans.
The “BRAKE” light comes on for two reasons - 1) when the e-brake handle is pulled up; 2) when the differential pressure switch on the side of the ABS motor block sense a significant difference in pressure between the front and rear hydraulic circuits. The differential pressure switch connects to the EBCM computer (EBTCM with ABS + ASR).

http://vcs-llc.net/9495scan/DLOG-trans-2019Sep29.csv
I started from cold and did a drive in o-drive on a small trip. normally i drive the car doing manual shifting. but for this scan i let the car shift its self.
thanks for your help.
PS i don't know why when i first got it running the fans would start running a minute after start it cold, but for some unknown reason after i fixed the dash lights, it fixed its self and is working normally.
Re: New Opti installed - need to test
it seems to be running better than it has in years, i can now red line it, where as before it would cutout and spudder.
just a look at how well the engine is running and fuel system.
Thanks again!
Re: New Opti installed - need to test
The log you posted is for the TRANSMISSION, not the engine. I do not know enough about the 4L60E to comment. Never owned one, never worked on one, and I think this is the first time I have seen a Scan9495 log for it.
Re: New Opti installed - need to test
i thought it was the engine at least that is what i saw on the screen, was that whole trip lost?
Re: New Opti installed - need to test
The name of the file has the word "trans" in it.... it is just a trans log. There is only on tab in the file, and its is all trans data.
