Re: New Lsx pcm conversion

Looks like the EFIConnection 24X conversion, with an improved setup on the crank and cam position sensors.

Interesting.

Good to see people still thinking about our gen of the LT1. Looks like a bit more plug and play system that might be appealing to more people.

This got my attention!

Dang, missed my chance to be a tester! (I'm not going back there and taking it apart again now!)

Anyone know what price they're planning? I might be interested in it for the 389 rebuild

Re: New Lsx pcm conversion

IMHO the 24X system (or this system) is overkill for a normally aspirated (7,000 RPM max) setup. If you want to get rid of the high voltage in the Opti (using only the extremely accurate cam position sensor) and use the LS1 coils in direct fire, the Bailey Engineering LTCC is a lot simpler.

Bailey LTCC setup

I've been using only the optical cam sensor in the Opti as input to an aftermarket ECU for 15 years with no problems. The engine has exceeded it's 7,400 RPM redline on a couple of occasions, and the Opti is still intact. A friend of mine used the same system on a S/C 383 LT1 that was making 1,125HP at the flywheel, and turning close to 8,000 RPM.

And we used aftermarket ECU's only because of the power adders (my nitrous, his 20+PSI S/C) and the simplicity of tuning the aftermarket ECU.
