The answer here is yes and no lol. For the temp sensor it has to be diagnosed via livescan and verifying the actual temp with a temp gun and comparing the two, there are also other methods.

With the O2's it depends again what they are or are not doing. Depending on misfunction they could or would throw a code, however if the problem is on the line side then the signal is being sent but not received and therefor you would have no codes.

I removed the computer yesterday. I talked with Bryan Herter & he is going to look at it to make sure that I have not fried the PCM or that the program is corrupt.

By any chance have you taken the opti apart?
When I built my new motor, I decided to refresh my opti with the best internal parts I had. Most people do not take one apart to the level that I did.

I pulled the cap, removed the rotor, the optical wheel and the sensor. I then pressed the two pieces apart that make up the rotating shaft that goes through the aluminum base. This is where i frigged up.

The two pieces of the shaft are not indexed which means that can back together in which way. I repacked the opti bearing with grease and pressed the two pieces of the shaft back together and paid no mind whatsoever to their original orientation which is vital for proper timing.

I installed the opti and it would not start and popped like Hell. Went round and round for hours on end and determined that I had fuel and fire. Desperate I installed a second un-tampered with near busted opti and the motor fired up and ran perfectly.

I then realized where I screwed up and in the future, when I remove the two pieces of the rotating shaft, I will scribe an indexing mark to insure the timing.

You problem to me sounds like timing.

Hmmmm...Funny you should say that. I bought a new UNASSEMBLED Opti from a friend of mine that worked at O'Reileys. I put it together without even thinking about indexing anything. Damn! Thanks for the heads up man I'll check the Opti!

If the rotating shaft in that opti was taken apart and then re-attached for whatever reason, I will guess that is your problem. Again I did the same damn thing.

My god I am so glad I moved to a crank trigger and standard distributor on my new combo. Those opti prices are insane for what you get.
