i dont have the #1 tube welded and i dont have a problem at all. but i think if you weld it i suppose you would have a problem with the coating.

I put some Walkers sealer on mine before I inserted it. You can get it from Oreilly's for a few bucks. Havent had any problems. Tyler

I haven't had any problems, but one thing I did was to pull a little more of the wire into the wheel well to ensure that it was as far away as possible from the header.

If it's that close, you might want to check your motor mounts.
