I had to pound down the tabs on the steering knuckle.

That's weird. I heard several people mention this problem, but I didn't have it on mine.
I replaced the motor mounts at the same time, so I'm wondering if worn out motor mounts would cause it...

Excellent job! I'll be updating my guide (hopefully soon!) and will add it. Again, great job!

Try getting that Drivers Side header in with the slip-tube welded up

I also had to pound the tabs in. We used a heavy mallet and hit a prybar to knock them down (with the shaft connected).

The IDEAL solution is to cut/grind them off completely with the shaft out of the car.

Well we did it on mine as a preventative measure since we had the knuckle out.

My motor mounts are 21K miles old (when the new motor went in) and appear to be brand new.

Great writeup, one question though; whats so great about the NGK Iridium spark plugs? I've seen them mentioned before and was wondering about them. I have Hooker LT's on the way also, do I need the over valve cover loom kit for sure?

I prefer OTVC wires because it would be like next to impossible to really burn a wire with these.

NGK Iridium plugs last longer than platinum, spark better than copper, and are nitrous safe. They also gave me the best idle quality I have ever had compared to brand new 3,000 mile AC Delco Platinum plugs.

OTVC wires are nice, but not necessary. You can route your wires safely with zip-ties. I've got 1000 miles on my headers, and nothing has burnt/no wires close to headers.

I got the OVC kit and the firesleeves (which you HAVE to put on before you put on the opti boot, otherwise it won't fit!)
Maybe I'm just ****, but I will NEVER be burning a wire, they look awesome, and you can tell in 2 seconds if you have burned a wire, or if it fell off the plug.
