Just did mine over the weekend (alone )
I almost started crying on the drivers side but just before I was gonna push my car over a cliff I tried a new angle and it went in!
Cool pics BTW, seems like you all had fun. How does it sound? I tried running it open headers but it was just waay to loud!
They sound crappy through the flowmasters I have though, so I need to look for a sollution.

Excellent write up!

I bookmarked it to use as a reference when doing my header install.

Thanks!

HeadFL, very nice work! Hopefully I won't be going through the torment of another header install anytime soon but.... This will certainly help a lot of other people out.

Looks like they D-shaped the openings to match the heads. Mine are oval. This pic http://www.theheadfl.com/pics/headers18.jpg looks like you are doing a major rebuild.

The best part was the fact that since we were doing it in a public parking lot, we were visited like 5 times by the University of Central Florida Police! lol They kept coming because people kept calling in saying it looked like we were trying to steal the car. They would just come by and chat with us and BS around a little bit usually, even though they knew you're not allowed to work on cars in the parking lot!

nice pics of the install!!!!

I didn't have nearly has much trouble as you did.
My drivers side went in with a problem. all i did was disconnect the steering linkage and remove the plugs and it went in from the bottom. I didn't have to notch the k-member or remove the oil filter I did have to trim the trans mount bracket. the Passenger side I removed the dipstick, starter, alternator, power steering pump, and plugs. I also cocked the motor and that side yet in from the bottom also.

The car sounds BAD *** now!!

Thats a great write up, too bad i did not have it 2 weeks ago when i did my jet hots. I had the hardest time on the drivers side too, but our saving grace was taking the motor mount bracket off the chasis. It went right in after that. Did yall ever try that? great job.

Hadn't even thought of it. Maybe that would've worked. Dropping the K member was easy though. By the way, thanks for the advice Madwolf!
