need help choosing pistons etc.,,stroker
97 6 speed
here's what the car will have...
le1 heads with the larger valves / jet hot longtubes 58mm tb 30# injectors, comp rockers, pushrods, lifters, pretty much everything but gears. ( waiting for the 12 bolt upgrade )
heres what i need help with (not my cup of tea)
having my block bored/clearenced for a eagle 383 or 396 stroker kit with 6" rods. all forged. i talked to the guy who's doing my block and he's talking bout what kind of compression i want. the car will -eventually- be blown and see nitrious. but not for a while. he needs to know what kind of piston i want to get. i don't really know much bout that stuff. please can someone explain these things?
also what cam would u recoment. i was looking at throwing an le3 cam in it. i want a real choppy/aggressive setup. car IS NOT a daily driver, just a weekend warrior. also, i will want to run pump gas, but want to be able to throw some 115 in there when i want. thanks

car is getting towed back thursday, engine will be out by the weekend
(threw a rod last fall, i'm hoping its not trashed!)

Re: need help choosing pistons etc.,,stroker
This is typically covered on "LT1 Engine Tech". I would think Lloyd could recommend a cam better than anyone else, if you are using his heads and want to use one of his cams.
You should resolve the basic issues like what stroke/displacement you are looking at.... not sure a 396 with a blower and juice wants a 6" rod. If you are building a blower engine, you're going to be looking at 8.5-9.5:1, depending on the boost level.
