New or stock lifters
New or stock lifters
A friend of mine told me that when he did his cam swap in his 94Z he took the old lifters out, cleaned them really well, and put them back together adn ran them. He was running the cc306 with 1.6 non roller rockers and turned it to 7000 quite a few times.
My question is this, can I 'rebuild' my stockers and run them as is, would I need a rev-kit if I did this?
Or should I buy a new set of the comp stock replacements.
My motor is running the cc306 with 1.6 full roller rockers, and it wont see anything past 6500 or so, maybe a bit more every now and then at the track.

Re: New or stock lifters
I've heard that the main thing that causes a stock lifter to fail is that it gets trash in the oil holes and the spring fails, so I'm thinkin that if they are super clean they should be okay for 6500 or so.
Re: New or stock lifters
Well after talking to SStrokerAce for a lil while I've about decided that the 306 is too much cam for my 4600# boat. I'm probably going to end up with a custom grind and a few other different things, but either way, I appreciate the help you guys!
