Need advice on choosing the right cam.

You know what cracks me up....is everytime someone mentions the Hotcam, someone throws in the the CC305. You can go either way as there are virtually the same cam. I just recommend the Hotcam because of the fact that it comes in a kit, which means you can get everything for around 490.00.

As for sound you aint gonna notice a difference. What will determine your sound is your exhaust.....cats v. no catz, duals, etc.

One more question--what does it mean when people say that a cam is too much for the street or daily driving?

If taken to the extreme, you can have a cam that won't idle below 2,000rpm, hesitates and bucks when trying to accelerate from low rpm, gets terrible gas mileage, wears out the rest of your valvetrain, etc. And it may actually slow your car down even if it produces more peak hp, depending on the weight, gearing, etc.
