My Paceseter LT's are falling apart
Re: My Paceseter LT's are falling apart
I have to say that the pacesetter's are a great product for the money. Mine look good up top but some rust on bottom. I drove it every day in the winter so, I wouldn't expect them to hold up to the snow and salt. The coating is mainly to keep heat down under the hood. Not to protect against water and salt. Stainless is great if you can afford them .

I guarantee it will take another 2 years for those pacesetters to rust all the way through. what you are seeing is just surface rust. I dont think that it matters what it looks like as long as they still perform well. FOR THE MONEY.... you cannot go wrong. You cant really bitch about them when they cost 1/4 of the price of other companies, and then rust in 1/4 of the time. I still plan on buying pacesetter.

I bought my AS&Ms used and I've had them on my car for over a year and half and they still look great! They are not shiny but rather a dull grey. Except for some surface rust and some on a couple of the welds, they are rust free!
Re: My Paceseter LT's are falling apart
basic care. if you can get ahold of a lift, once a year you should spend ther better part of one day underneather the car. in 4 hours, i sanded off all my surface rust and repainted the entire bottom of the car with 3 coats of high temp gloss black. try to use a 3m pad or sand paper and scrub over the brake lines by hand, removing corrosion. in one day, i took off 10 years or nastyness and made it look great. all for about 15 bucks worth of material. header polish included
