is this a cause for alarm??

I got my subframe connectors installed yesterday. He said he had to disconnect the fuel lines to install it. I went under the car today and noticed this..

few questions..

1. What fuel line is this?
2. is it hurting my gas mileage?
3. Its best i just plug that back together right? it doesnt seem to reach very well but i think with a clamp there itll hold nicely.
4. should i be pissed? on a scale from 1-10.

thank you all

That line vents the fumes from the gas tank into the intake manifold, just connect it back up.

if needed, put a longer piece of hose on there, it holds no pressure

That is still pretty careless of the mechanic!

I'd be quite pissed myself, things like these are why I never let anyone else work on my car. As said above just reconnect and call it a day. However, judging by the fact that the dumb--s mechanic couldn't even reconnect that line I'd recommend inspecting anything else s/he could have screwed up.

He probably connected it, but it fell off because it looks like the SFCs are pushing up on the lines. Dosn't look like there was ever a clamp on the plastic line side.

At least he had the sense to disconnect the lines and not burn your car down. Glad you found the loose hose, but it's not that big of a deal.

There is no clamp in that location on the factory lines.

Re: is this a cause for alarm??

It's not a big deal. I pulled my lines apart and moved them on top of the brake lines to get them out of the way for the weld up of the SFCs too. The evap line pulled out of the sleeve all by itself. I have since moved the lines back to their original position and the line has stayed put. Some of the cheesy things I find from the factory are amazing. This is one of them. Don't blame the mechanic or fabricator; its a design flaw imho.
