Re: My New BRE ProRam

Yes I did thanks. Actually I was refered company to company a couple times and finally found someone that custom makes 6AN to plastic fuel line fittings. This is what i needed to finish the intake fuel line connections.

Bret nevermind this guy. He's been challenged already to express his "technical" opinion on the intake and can't. Anything dealing with a naturally aspirated motor is not of his interest.

Not quite sure who first quoted this...." Envy and/or the lack of knowledge will bring out the ignorance in some and will show the stupidity in others."

Bret and Ken, I'm sorry but that has to be the most beautiful piece of metal ever crafted for the LT1. It is truly a work of art. To those who complain about the price, go get yourself a custom Hogan's intake, they're real cheap.

I'm curious because I will be eventually replacing my LT4 intake with something that allows my AFR heads to breath better and if the price on this piece is the same approx. as what a Hogan's intake would cost, I was wondering which applications each are suited more towards or are they intended for the same application? I realize that the Hogan's intake is customizable and can be had in different runner lengths but just as a standard comparison.
You could get a Hogan's to the right lengths and sizes, all depends on what you are looking for. JimLab's intake had shorter runners than this one does, so it all depends on what you are looking for.

The big extra cost here is getting the intake to bolt into the car. Use your cruise control, plug into the fuel lines, have enough vacuum ports, fit under your hood and have the LT1 intake systems come close to bolting up. Going with a single plane intake could do about the same thing in terms of HP but it's not really a plug in operation. I convert single planes for LT1's too and they are about 1/4 to 1/5th the price of this intake, but it's not ready to bolt in. You need a cowl hood, carb or TB setup, and it's not really a driver anymore it's more for race cars. Ken basically wanted bolt on performance for his fun street car, not really a race car setup. It another option that's out there for you and it fits some people better than it fits others.

Although it is nice, there are other LT1 intakes floating around that rival the Pro-Ram in da looks dept. I have one here in a box at my house that is perty sporty. But I have no way of hosting pics of it.

And Bret is right, making normally aspirated HP is all about the correct runner length/shape. And it is not cheap to get.

Re: My New BRE ProRam

If I had the money I'd get a Wilson too Last time I was at their shop I was quoted 3-4K for a intake. They are sure purdy though.

Now lets get back to my intake
