Re: My LTCC SETUP

Do a "search" on the Aeromotive AFPR. You may want to change your mind.

You can polish the rails to a mirror shine.

Re: My LTCC SETUP

Thanks. I didn't know these had problems. I have had the part since last year and haven't used it before.

Strange because I've never had any problems with Aeromotive parts.

Nice engine bay, Injuneer. Yeah I know the rails can be polished. I just never felt like doing the work required to polish them.

I polished my motorcycle frame years ago, and I told myself I would never polish metal again....ever. he he he

Is getting the WS6 ram air intake worth it or not??

Re: My LTCC SETUP

Their LT1 specific regulators just weren't well designed or built. The first bunch didn't even sit in the bracket and just sort of hung off the fuel rail. Mine cost me a head gasket years ago. I'm running one of their A1000 regs now with no issue.

Re: My LTCC SETUP

Thanks for your response. I'll probably just run the Walbro 255 with stock regulator. I'm looking at probably 350-370 RWHP, after my swappage.

Re: My LTCC SETUP

Aeromotive makes great products. But for some reason, the LT1 AFPR is not very good. I don't know how many times I've responded to threads regarding fuel pressure problems, and when asking what AFPR they are using, it turns out to be the Aeromotive. Unfortunate. They claimed the first design was not compatible with some changes to fuel composition in the late 90's. But the revised design was no better than the old one.

With Mothers Billet Metal Polish, it's no work at all to polish the rails.

I think that with modifications, the WS6 style ram air intake is as good as it gets. The modification include opening up the cover of the airbox, removing the baffles from the hood inlets, and replacing the bellows connector with the Fernco sewer pipe connector.

Are the 5.3 vortec coils the same as the 6.0 coils?

I know this post is a few months old but I just found some 12558693 coils (part # is plainly written on em) off a Vortec 5.3L 2001 Chevy Silverado. So the answer would be Yes in my cituation. I'm not sure if they come with different types of coils though. So you might want to find a part # on them. I know the round coils with metal fin heat sink wont work with the LTCC. I'm picking these coils up and wire harness wendsday at the junk yard with the harnesses for $120 for my LTCC coil pack conversion.

As long as they do not have those weird metal heat sink things on them they will work.

Re: My LTCC SETUP

These are the coils you DO NOT want to use. They have the metal finned heat sinks in them.

Any other Vortec coils will work, even though the LTCC instructions specify LS1 coils. My coils are from a Vortec engine, and they work perfectly. My car runs like a beast.
