Motor mount question...
Going to replace my motor mounts with new rubber ones.
I currently have the mounts out and have noticed that the rubber pieces are incased with plates that are riveted.
My question. When I buy new rubber mounts, do I get just the rubber pieces and have to use my existing plates or do I get a full assembled riveted assembly.

I got mine from http://www.victoryracingengines.com/ , but they were poly. Honestly i didnt notice any shaking or extra vibrations after i installed them.
If you buy new GM mounts it comes with the metal surround.
In July of 05 I put ES poly mounts in and ended up taking them out in august of this year. One side shrunk / got dried up and was loose in the clamshell. It was causing the header to hit the steering shaft. Threw new GM rubber mounts in there and fixed the problem. The minimal added vibration was bearable and hardly noticable though. Even with a heads / cam setup it wasn't that bad. I'd stick with the GM rubber mounts, there's very little to gain using poly mounts except a little vibration.

Go with the ES or Prothane mounts.... you will not be replacing them again. Its my belief headers excelerate the wear on stock rubber mounts so going with them again is a waste. Plus the polyurathane isnt that expensive... something like $50-$60 for the set.
