Misfire question

Im getting a misfire code after i put my cc503 cam in. The car seems to be running fine but I went ahead and replaced all the wires and plugs. The opti, Ignition module is fairly new and the replaced the plugs as well. Im getting two codes one is p0300 multiple random misfires and the other is low circuit on the crankshaft positioning sensor. My question is could the misfire code be reading cause the crankshaft sensor is out?

Re: Misfire question

It could be the sensor or it could be that it is idling a little rough from the cam and that is causing it to think it is misfiring. It might improve if you advance the timing a little and increase the idle speed - not sure how much you need to do with a 503. I can see that being more of a problem with an auto trans with a stock converter, but your information doesn't say what you have.

Re: Misfire question

Clear your codes and see if they come back. One of them has to be a stored code. P0300 can not set if there is an ACTIVE code for the crank sensor (P0335 or P0336).
