Did you verify that the code was actually set by a faulty MAF? It could have been set due to faulty wiring or damged pins in the harness connector.

try at least cleaning your maf sensor with that cleaner spray that CRC makes. autozone etc sell it. it could be a clogged cat maybe?

It could be a bad temp sensor - near water pump; acheap fix
