Mallory fuel pressure regulator
Mallory fuel pressure regulator
I am cutting off the stock lines from the rails and welding on AN fittings. I plan to use the Mallory 4305M regulator and I have a question on how to plumb it. I will run full fuel pressure to the passenger side rail and put the regulator on the drivers side. Do I run the line from the drivers side rail to the AN-8 inlet port of the regulator and the return line to the tank to the AN-8 port on the bottom of the rehulator? I was going to plug all the 3/8" NPT outlets except one for a pressure gauge.
I would appreciate the help from anyone who done this install.
Thanks
Jim

Re: Mallory fuel pressure regulator
The instruction for that unit appear to indicate its a "bypass" type regulator. It shows the pump supply connecting to the inlet of the regulator, a return line to the tank, and 3 supply lines for a dead-ended system. Have you confirmed that this will work as a recirculated (return side) regulator?
Re: Mallory fuel pressure regulator
I haven't confirmed with Mallory that this would work. I thought someone on the forum may have done this before and could provide some guidance. I know several people have welded on the AN fittings to their fuel rails so if someone has a setup that works with a remote FPR, let me know what you did.

Re: Mallory fuel pressure regulator
Sure.... I have one. I run a -6AN line into the back of each rail, have a -6AN fitting for a return line welded to the diagonal cross-over line at the front of the rails, and a Weldon AFPR mounted under the cowl, operating on the return line. I think its the Weldon 2040:
