Looking for some insite here about Mass Air Sensors. I ported my MAF, and haven't really noticed any difference in throtle response. I've been doing some reading here and some say porting it made a big difference, others say it did nothing at all. I see aftermarket vendors claiming 10-15 hp in 10 minutes and I know 9-10 they are exagerating. Are they worth the $300 dolloar price?

i put a z06 conversion 85mm MAF on my basicly stock car its made by GMS i got it for 149 off LS1speed.com and i felt a differnce. i dont think it added nearly as they claimed (22hp LOL) but i am goin to guess maybe 8-12hp... i really didnt wanna spend 300 on one but i think they help out in hvy modded cars i could be wrong... and gutted ends wont work on it that i know of all one molding but i didnt go prying to try get the ends off

Anybody else running that z06 MAF?

 

I'm not running the LS1speed one.. I'm running a Factory GM unit with a LT1Edit reprogrammed PCM.

It's a good unit, and if you can program your own computer the GM one runs about $85 Shipped. I only replaced mine because my stock one failed and I wasn't paying over $200 for a new stock one.

I don't know about HP gain, When I put mine on I was having some other issues and this was done about 1/2 way through fixing all those. I can only imagine ~10Hp max outta this though.
