MAF questions

I was just wondering which band MAF was the best? Is it worth the money to buy an after market one over the stock one without the screen? Just trying to figure this whole thing out. Thanks

Not exactly....Your Stock MAF sensors are fine if you plan on getting aftermarket programming, but if you want more airflow you'll need to put the ported ends on for less restriction.

If your car is kinda stock and you don't plan on getting your car performance programmed go with a Granatelli they do work

Well the car is customed program and had the slp cia and no maf screen. I just wanted to know if the after market maf would make much more of a difference with that set up going into a 52mm.

Thats strange that you say this, because i've read and heard that granatelli's are a waste of money, they very unstable for air flow & performance programing, infact most guys that do performacne programing, would rather you have your stock maf.

The stock maf sensor is the best IMHO.

We have used a stock screened maf in everything from 450rwhp naturally aspirated motors to 700+rwhp forced induction motors.

Maf ends or a ported maf will do more harm than good.

Aftermarket mafs, and 85mm mafs can show a small gain on a car with no tuning due to a leaner a/f mixture and not because of increased airflow.

So is it better to have the screen in the maf or out?

Take the screen out and port the ends. Thats the best your going to do with te stick MAF sensor. When we say port were talking about cutting out the 2 center pieces in each end, make them perfectly hollow. Yes I've also heard the granitelli will work for a while but after a short while it stops working and you go right back where you started.
