AS&M Headers..?

Anyone have any comments on them? Thinking about getting them and wondering how they were. I've lowered my car 1" and don't want any clearence issues. I know a lot of people have hooker and pacesetters but is this because they're cheaper and easier to install..?

Suggestions are welcome!

TIA

I like mine alot. I do have a small dent in the Y pipe as it goes from the driver side over to the passenger side. Mine is lowered from the factory about 3/4" so I probably hit something. After about 6 years the coating still looks good.

Re: AS&M Headers..?

I bought my AS&M's used, after watching an engine dyno test where they made over 850HP on a blown 383. Actually made more HP than a set of Hooker LT's in direct comparison dyno testing. When they upped the HP closer to 950HP, the Hookers looked better, so I picked up the used AS&M's for $150 . Currently pushing 800 nitrous HP through them, and no signs of stress. I do have a set of Hookers that I'm going to dyno eventually, particularly now that the car is no longer street driven.

I would recommend them, as I have no complaints and i think they are a good street header that helps retain ground clearance.

The guys there were really cool, too. When I called up b/c Year One did not include the correct AIR fitting for my year, they hooked me right up.

I have no experience with them but have heard very good things about them as far as fitment and build quality.

Re: AS&M Headers..?

I have them and I have the BMR springs which lower the car about and inch. No clearance problems ever. The clearance is about the same as stock. Don't forget motor mounts while your in there, mine rubbed when I first installed them, and the mounts would have been so much easier to install with the headers out. Good luck!
